Last Week of the Season

Hi everyone, this is it: the last week of the season is already here.

First: The good news is that our Trinity HS Girls soccer team is in District playoffs. The bad news is they get the field first, before we do.

So: No practice tomorow, Monday, May 12.

Plan for practice this Thursday, May 15 instead. We will also have practice Friday, May 16 as currently shows on the schedule. It's likely that the Friday practice will be canceled due to soccer as well, but we won't know that until Tuesday.

We are planning a special 8th grade recognition event, and an end of season celebration. It will be either this week in a practice (if we can have 2) or one evening the week of 5/19. There are rumors that the team has challenged the parents and coaches to a race......several of them in fact. We are looking at a 50, 100, and a 2 mile race (just kidding on the last one) and a Long Jump, with kids vs. parents and coaches.

4th Grade Meet is Tuesday, at Trinity, at 5:00 pm. It's a whole lot of fun and we highly recommend it for your 4th grader. There are no limits, you can do every event if you want. In past years the 4th graders have had a great time.

All League Meet line ups are posted on our other web site, http://www.ststrack.org/. Note that we have a large team this year which is great, but it makes it tough to get everyone involved at the level we would like. We were happy to get all the 4th graders who want to attend into one event. Most everyone else has two events, some have 1, very few have 3 events. We took into consideration events that each athlete wanted to compete in, and, as mentioned before, we only had 2 slots per squad for field events (vs. 5 in a regular meet) and only 3 slot (vs. unlimited in a regular meet) per running event. Unfortunately, these are League rules, not ours. Also, the League dictates that no changes can be made to the line up, we are now stuck with the line up as is.

All League Meet Volunteers: We need four parents to volunteer to staff the finish line, to be a lane helper. One would be for JV running events, and one would be for Varsity running events. The other two would be backups in case the first two are ill or can't make it at the last minute. I did this 3 years ago and I can tell you that it's the best "seat" in the house.

All League Meet Logistics: These are posted in detail on http://www.ststrack.org/ on the All League Meet page. Based on this info plus what events you are in, you will know when you need to be there.

See you this week!
